UK Wedding Venues We Love Filming

Not a generic “best of” list — ten luxury venues we know from behind the camera: light, logistics, and the feeling they give a wedding film. Written by Justina & Greg · HD Moments, London.

Venues that earn their place on film

The UK is full of beautiful wedding venues. Far fewer are truly generous to a camera — the kind of architecture, gardens and flow of day that make a film feel cinematic without forcing it.

This guide is written from our work as London wedding videographers who film across England and beyond. Every venue below is one we have filmed (or return to with confidence). For each, we note what it is best for, how it behaves on camera, and — where we have published a film — a clip from our Vimeo library.

If you are also weighing budgets, see wedding videographer cost UK and our wedding film packages.

The list

Ten UK wedding venues we love filming

Order is not a scoreboard — it is a curated set of places that repeatedly give us extraordinary footage.

01 · Hertfordshire

Ashridge House

Gothic Revival Gardens ~150 guests

Ashridge rewards a patient camera: stone, long corridors, and gardens that open into formal geometry. We love it when couples want heritage without a cold museum feeling — the light in the chapel and terrace hours is particularly generous.

Best for: grand ceremony moments, garden portraits, multi-space wedding days.

Filmmaker note: plan time for architecture inserts; the grounds repay a slow walk between events.

02 · Berkshire

Cliveden House

Stately home Thames views Iconic

Cliveden is one of those rare estates that already looks like a film before you press record. The parterre, the terrace light, the sense of arrival — it is why couples travel here and why we return.

Best for: high-fashion editorial energy, large-scale receptions, unforgettable first looks outdoors.

Filmmaker note: protect golden hour on the terrace; interiors benefit from a quiet second angle.

03 · Buckinghamshire

Hedsor House

Exclusive use Celebrity favourite Intimate luxury

Hedsor is where exclusivity meets warmth. Light-filled rooms, a house that feels lived-in rather than staged, and gardens that hold a ceremony with genuine intimacy. A natural fit for multi-day or culturally rich celebrations near London.

Best for: Asian & multi-day weddings, exclusive-use weekends, elegant summer receptions.

See also our guide for Asian wedding videography in London — Hedsor is a frequent request.

04 · Suffolk

Wilderness Reserve

Multi-day Privacy Landscape

Wilderness is less “single ballroom” and more private world. Estates, cottages, wide land — ideal when the wedding is a weekend chapter rather than a single day. On film, the landscape does half the emotional work.

Best for: destination-style UK weekends, guest experiences, sunset sequences.

05 · London

The Ned

City hotel Art Deco Skyline

The Ned brings London glamour without needing a countryside transfer. Bold interiors, rooftop energy, and a sense of occasion that reads modern on film. Perfect when the story is the city itself.

Best for: stylish city weddings, evening receptions, couples who want London as a character.

06 · Cotswolds

Euridge Manor

Manor Cotswolds stone Boutique

Euridge is intimate and textural — stone, gardens, and a scale that suits couples who want manor house romance without industrial guest numbers. Dusk here is often the hero of the film.

Best for: boutique guest lists, garden ceremonies, Cotswolds destination feel within the UK.

07 · West Sussex

Goodwood House

Heritage Parkland Scale

Goodwood carries genuine aristocratic weight — façades, parkland, and rooms that need almost no “styling” for a cinematic frame. Ideal when couples want heritage with breathing space outdoors.

Best for: classic English estate weddings, large outdoor portraits, formal dinners with grandeur.

08 · West Sussex

Cowdray House

Ruins & estate Outdoor ceremony Texture

Cowdray’s ruins and estate grounds give a film extraordinary texture — stone, sky, and modern celebration layered together. One of our favourite West Sussex canvases.

Best for: outdoor ceremonies, dramatic portraits, couples who love history with edge.

09 · London

Kew Gardens

Botanical Glasshouses Unique London

Kew is unlike any other London wedding setting — living architecture, glasshouses, and green depth that feels worlds away from a hotel ballroom. On film it is colour, scale and quiet wonder.

Best for: couples who want London without “city grey”, botanical ceremonies, distinctive portrait backdrops.
