There are London hotels that are luxurious — and then there is The Savoy. Since opening its doors in 1889, it has occupied a category entirely its own: a hotel that has hosted royalty, artists, and heads of state, whose name is inseparable from the idea of London at its most refined, and whose interiors carry a sense of occasion that no newly built venue can replicate. Hannah and Jack chose The Savoy for their winter wedding — and it was one of the most genuinely spectacular celebrations we have had the privilege of filming anywhere in the capital. As experienced London wedding videographers, filming here is an experience unlike any other.

The Savoy — The Setting
The Savoy sits on the Strand in the heart of London’s West End — one of the most storied addresses in the world. The hotel opened in 1889, built by Richard D’Oyly Carte with the profits from Gilbert and Sullivan’s operettas, and it has never lost the particular quality of its opening years: a combination of genuine luxury, impeccable service, and a sense of occasion that feels entirely its own.
The Savoy at a Glance

- Style: Art deco and Edwardian grandeur — five-star luxury hotel, opened 1889
- Key spaces: The Lancaster Ballroom, the River Room, the Abraham Lincoln Room, the Thames Foyer
- Best for: Grand London celebrations, black-tie weddings, couples who want an iconic London address with genuine historic character
- HD Moments experience: Yes — we have filmed at The Savoy
For winter weddings in particular, The Savoy has a quality that is completely its own — the warmth of the interiors against the cold of the London evening outside, the candlelight playing across the art deco detailing, the sense of being in a room that has hosted some of the most significant moments in British cultural history. Hannah and Jack’s November celebration captured all of that — and produced footage of extraordinary warmth and depth.

The Ceremony — Hannah’s Entrance
Hannah’s entrance during the ceremony was one of those moments that stays with you long after a wedding is over. Set to a live performance by Jamie Johnson Music, she walked down an aisle that radiated elegance and genuine emotion — every guest completely present, completely still, watching a moment of real and irreplaceable beauty unfold in front of them.
The ceremony space at The Savoy — candlelit, intimate in proportion despite the grandeur of the hotel surrounding it — gave the footage an extraordinary warmth. We work with the natural quality of the hotel’s lighting and the particular atmosphere of winter to produce ceremony footage of genuine depth. This was one of the most moving ceremonies we have filmed in London.
The Details — Gown, Florals & Styling
Hannah wore a gown from Berta Bridal, sourced through The Wedding Club — a gown of extraordinary craftsmanship and visual impact that was perfectly suited to the scale and sophistication of The Savoy. Jack wore Gieves & Hawkes — one of Savile Row’s most celebrated tailors — a choice that brought a particular quality of timeless English elegance to the day. Together they looked extraordinary.
The florals by Fulford Flowers were spectacular — snowy white arrangements of genuine scale and artistry that complemented The Savoy’s interiors with complete visual refinement. The overall event design and planning by Georgia Barbara Events brought every element of the day together with the kind of consistency and attention to detail that produces footage where every frame feels genuinely considered.
Production by Extreme Production Group elevated the technical quality of every aspect of the day’s presentation. Hair by Blow London and makeup by Melanie O’Rourke Makeup were flawless — both filmed beautifully in The Savoy’s warm winter light. Stationery by Creations by Angels and bridesmaids in Six Stories completed a day of complete visual consistency and genuine elegance.
“A winter wedding at The Savoy has a quality that no other time of year can replicate. The warmth of the interiors, the candlelight, the particular intimacy that the cold London evening outside creates — it produces footage of an extraordinary depth and warmth that we return to with real affection.”

The Evening — Music, Dancing & Fireworks
The evening at a Savoy wedding builds in a way that is entirely its own. Cocktail hour gives guests time to absorb the grandeur of the hotel — to discover its spaces, to settle into the extraordinary atmosphere of the place — before the formality of the dinner and then the complete release of the dancing.
The wedding cake by Hall of Cakes was a work of genuine artistry — beautifully styled and beautifully made. The toastmaster was JP Toastmaster, whose presence and timing kept the entire day flowing with complete ease.
The energy of the evening was extraordinary — brought to life by The Function Band, who had the dance floor full from the first song to the last. And then, in the most spectacular possible finale, fireworks by Exciting Fireworks lit up the London sky above the Thames — a moment of pure, joyful excess that brought the whole celebration to a close in the most memorable possible way. The aerial and ground-level footage from that fireworks display is some of the most visually spectacular we have produced at any London venue.

Filming at The Savoy
The Savoy presents a particular set of creative opportunities for a filming team. The interior light — warm, directional, rich with the particular quality of a five-star hotel that has been perfected over more than a century — is genuinely extraordinary to work with. The variety of spaces across the hotel gives the footage a breadth and visual variety that produces a film of genuine richness. And the scale of a Savoy wedding — from the intimacy of the ceremony to the grandeur of the Long Library at full dance-floor energy — gives the edit a natural arc and emotional progression that we love working with.
We work closely with The Savoy’s events team and with the couple’s wedding planner throughout the planning process to ensure we are in the right position at every moment of the day — and that nothing significant is missed. The result, in Hannah and Jack’s case, was a film that we are genuinely proud of.
