The great thing of being a destination wedding videographer is that there are a lot of unexpected yet beautiful events along the way. We do love planning how to video a wedding, but we keep things simple and a little bit flexible because we never know what amazing adventures the near future will bring.
At the beginning of 2018 we couldn’t imagine that we’ll be closing the year with such an amazing group of warm people at beautiful Dubrovnik in Croatia. Lynn and Kristof contacted us after they saw some of our wedding videos, and we immediately got excited about this wedding. We are proud and happy for being the trusted wedding videographers of this amazing couple.
Our First Wedding in Dubrovnik
We weren’t that sure about what could we expect from a wedding in Croatia except from the lovely Adriatic coast venues. The light quality was bewitching and blew us away. We really hope we can get to cover more weddings at Croatia, it is just a perfect wedding destination for this time of the year.
Kristof and Lynn knew since very long ago that their wedding was going to happen under the beautiful Croatian sun. For us it was exciting since we love the challenging lighting conditions the sea has to offer.
We have a thing for weddings that happen between the beautiful collision of two cultures, and this was one of those. If we see back in history, weddings like this were less frequent to happen. We live in a beautiful moment in human history, and one of the countless positive things we can mention, is cultures colliding together into a sweet pool of love.
Villa Sheherezade, Dubrovnik Wedding
Alright, let’s talk a bit about the perfect venue they picked for their wedding, the Villa Sheherezade. Actually, it had been a while since we covered a wedding at a hotel; almost every wedding we did in 2018 happened at manors and small châteaux.
This hotel was the perfect venue for us because it is covered with rich white walls and light spreads evenly across the whole place. The Villa is an overlooking luxury hotel with a Moorish style that made the cultural clash even more interesting.
Often during weddings we witness love unfolding in very interesting ways, but what happened here was somewhat unique. Both Lynn and Kristof had a deep admiration for the other, almost like best friends or life partners, and we really enjoyed their vows and the speeches people said to them.
Kristof and Lynn even got to ride a beautiful wooden-decked boat after the ceremony, and we were there to capture it all. At the end of the day, the very much expected party burst away. Everyone had the time of their lives, even we had it, and we simply couldn’t resist to be part of such a vibrant party
