Weddings are some of the best events in a person’s life. These are moments you will want to relive. Unlike photos, videos give you the movements, the voices, the sounds, and the actions that took place in one of the most memorable days of your existence. And we understand that not everyone is confident to be in front of the camera, so you might be a little shy about posing for your wedding video. That’s why we came up with this blog to give you a few tips and get you prepared beforehand.

1.Stay calm.

As your wedding videographer team, it is our job to get to know you so we can weave your personality into your video. This way, we will know what to do to bring out the best in you. If you’re a little humorous, we’ll capture a few fun poses as well. If you seem to have a tender and warm personality, we will nurture that side. It’s all about being natural and true to your love story. The point is, you should stay calm and relax. Be yourself and we will do our best to show your character in your wedding video.

2.Do not slouch.

If you tend to be a bit timid whenever you face the camera, you might slouch to get yourself away from the spotlight. But posing like this will give you a double chin, which is never good on video! Thankfully, this problem can be easily corrected. Simply stand up straight, and you’ll look better already. Doing so will help stretch your neck. To achieve this pose, move your head forward and tilt your chin down. A pro tip to get this look is to use your tongue to reach the roof of your mouth. Practice this pose and look twice as good on your wedding day!

3.Laugh it up.

One of the best shots on a wedding video is a burst of candid laughter. We photographers like to recommend these moments, especially during preparation time, but they are also perfect during first look and couple portrait sessions. Try to crack a joke to have a genuine laugh. For sure, nothing will look more candid than this pose.

5.Practice different smiles.

During your wedding, you are at the centre of attention, and chances are, you are feeling tired smiling all day. To avoid the risk of smile exhaustion, try different ways to smile. For example, use your eyes to project a smile. It will give your cheeks some needed rest! As much as possible, try not to project a fake smile, which will never look good in your wedding video.

6.Use props.

Maybe you’re someone who doesn’t want to be in the spotlight — no problem. All you need is to incorporate some functional props to divert your attention. This will make you feel more relaxed and you will look more natural on camera.

Having a wedding video gives you something to always go back to if you want to relive your big day. Even if you’re camera shy, there are always ways to do your wedding posing that look great on your video.
