Mallorca has a quality that is very hard to describe to anyone who has not filmed there — a combination of the Mediterranean light, the warmth of the island’s stone buildings in the late afternoon, the particular colour of the sea at golden hour, and the relaxed rhythm of a celebration that has been given time and space to breathe. We have filmed weddings on this island at some of the most extraordinary venues in Europe, and we return here every season with real affection and genuine excitement. If you are planning a destination wedding in Mallorca and looking for a videographer who knows this island intimately — its light, its venues, its most quietly magical corners — this guide is for you.
Why Mallorca Is Exceptional for Destination Weddings
Mallorca combines natural beauty with refined luxury in a way that very few destinations in Europe can match. Dramatic clifftop fortresses with panoramic Mediterranean views. Centuries-old finca estates set in ancient olive groves. Cliffside boutique hotels above hidden coves. And over the whole island, a quality of light and warmth that makes every frame of footage look genuinely extraordinary.
For UK couples in particular, Mallorca’s flight connections — two to three hours from most major UK airports, with multiple direct flights daily — make it one of the most practical as well as one of the most beautiful destination wedding locations in Europe. Guests arrive easily, the island offers extraordinary accommodation at every level, and the Mediterranean climate means that weather risk across the peak season from May to October is minimal. It is a destination where the logistics are easy and the beauty is simply overwhelming.

The Light — Why Mallorca Films So Beautifully
If you ask any wedding videographer or photographer why they love filming in Mallorca, the answer is always the same — the light. The Mediterranean light at this latitude has a quality that is simply incomparable. Warm and directional from late morning, it turns genuinely extraordinary in the two hours before sunset — particularly in May, June, and September, when the sun sets late enough that golden hour falls at exactly the right moment of a typical wedding day timeline.
At clifftop venues like La Fortaleza or Cap Rocat, the combination of the sea below, the sky above, and that extraordinary Mediterranean light produces footage that needs almost no craft to make beautiful. At countryside finca estates, the ancient olive trees, the terracotta stone, and the warm evening light create something entirely different but equally extraordinary. Every season we film in Mallorca produces footage we are genuinely proud of — and the island is consistently one of our favourite destinations in Europe.
“Mallorca’s golden hour is unlike anything else we film anywhere in Europe. The combination of the Mediterranean sea, the ancient stone, and that particular quality of late afternoon light — it produces footage that simply cannot be replicated anywhere else. We return every season with real excitement.”

Mallorca Wedding Venues We Film At
We have filmed at some of Mallorca’s most exclusive and visually extraordinary venues — each with its own character, its own quality of light, and its own particular atmosphere on film. Here are the venues we return to most regularly and know most intimately.
Mallorca Venues We Film At
- La Fortaleza — a dramatic 16th-century clifftop fortress with breathtaking panoramic views across the Mediterranean. One of the most visually extraordinary wedding venues in Europe. Completely exclusive — private hire only. Best for couples who want something genuinely incomparable.
- Cap Rocat — a converted military fortress perched above the sea on the edge of a nature reserve. Utterly unique, completely private, and one of the most atmospherically extraordinary venues we film at anywhere in the world.
- Finca Son Termes — a beautiful countryside estate set in the foothills of the Tramuntana mountains, with ancient olive groves, mountain views, and the warmth and character of authentic Mallorcan countryside. Perfect for couples who want a genuinely rooted, landscape-led celebration.
- Can Simoneta — a cliffside boutique hotel above a hidden cove on Mallorca’s east coast, with extraordinary Mediterranean views and an intimate, refined atmosphere that feels entirely its own.

Our Approach to Mallorca Wedding Videography
Our films are not about posing or directing moments. We work discreetly and intuitively throughout the day — focusing on natural emotion, genuine atmosphere, and storytelling that captures your wedding day exactly as it truly unfolds. We observe more than we interrupt. We focus on real interactions, elegant visuals, meaningful sound, and the particular energy of a celebration in an extraordinary place.
Mallorca’s natural light, warm golden tones, and relaxed Mediterranean rhythm allow us to create wedding films that feel genuinely timeless and deeply personal. Whether filming at a clifftop fortress at sunset, in the intimate gardens of a countryside finca, or beside a hidden cove on the island’s east coast — the island provides extraordinary material at every turn.
Mallorca is also one of the most popular destinations for summer weddings — the long evenings and golden light of June, July, and August create some of the most beautiful filming conditions we ever work in. Logistics — What We Know From Filming Here
This section is for the couples who are in the planning phase and want to understand the practical realities of filming a destination wedding in Mallorca. It is the kind of detail that comes only from having filmed here across multiple seasons.
Travel
We fly directly to Palma de Mallorca from London — the flight is approximately 2 hours 20 minutes, with multiple daily flights from Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, and most other major UK airports. We hire a car on the island and are self-sufficient for the entire trip. Travel costs are always discussed transparently at enquiry stage.
Drone
We fly drone in Mallorca for aerial coverage of the venues, the coastline, and the wider island landscape. Drone regulations in Spain require advance registration and in some areas proximity to the coast requires specific authorisation. We manage all of this as part of our standard process for Spanish destination weddings. The aerial footage from Mallorca — the clifftops, the coves, the ancient olive groves — is consistently some of the most beautiful we produce anywhere in Europe.
Best months
For the best combination of light, weather, and temperature we recommend May, June, and September. July and August are the most popular but also the hottest — ceremony timing becomes critical in midsummer, and we always advise late afternoon ceremonies (5pm or later) to avoid harsh overhead light and to ensure the golden hour portrait session falls at the right moment. October is quieter and increasingly popular for couples who want a more intimate atmosphere and lower venue prices.

FAQ — Mallorca Wedding Videographer
Do you film destination weddings in Mallorca?
Yes — we film in Mallorca regularly and know the island’s finest venues intimately. We fly from London and are completely self-sufficient on the island. Travel costs are discussed transparently at enquiry stage and we always stay at or near the venue to ensure we are present from early morning preparation through to the end of the evening.
What are the best wedding venues in Mallorca?
For dramatic clifftop grandeur, La Fortaleza and Cap Rocat are both exceptional — completely unique venues of extraordinary visual power. For authentic Mallorcan countryside character, Finca Son Termes is beautiful. For intimate cliffside luxury, Can Simoneta on the east coast is extraordinary. We have filmed at all of these venues and know their light, their rhythm, and their most beautiful corners intimately.
What is the best time of year for a Mallorca wedding?
May, June, and September are our favourite months to film in Mallorca. The light is extraordinary, the heat is manageable, and the island is slightly quieter than at the peak of summer. July and August are the most popular but the hottest — late afternoon ceremonies are essential. October is increasingly popular for couples who want a more intimate, quieter atmosphere and the beautiful golden light of early autumn.
Do you handle drone permits for Mallorca?
Yes — we manage all drone permit applications and registrations as part of our standard process for Spanish destination weddings. Drone regulations in Spain require advance registration and in some coastal areas specific authorisation — we handle all of this completely. The aerial footage from Mallorca is consistently some of the most beautiful we produce anywhere in Europe.
How far in advance should we book for a Mallorca wedding?
We recommend booking 12–18 months in advance for Mallorca destination weddings, particularly for peak season dates in June, July, and September. The island’s most exclusive venues — La Fortaleza, Cap Rocat — book out 18 months to 2 years ahead, and experienced destination wedding videographers fill at a similar rate. If you have a date confirmed, reach out to us as soon as possible.
Do you also film in other Spanish destinations?
Yes — we film across Spain and the wider Mediterranean, including Ibiza, Menorca, and mainland Spain. We also film extensively across France, Italy, and the wider Mediterranean. See our best European wedding destinations guide for more inspiration.
