One of the greatest joys of being a destination wedding videographer is arriving somewhere for the very first time and immediately understanding why a couple chose it. Dubrovnik was exactly that — the ancient walled city rising above the Adriatic, the quality of the Croatian coastal light, and the extraordinary historic beauty of venues that exist nowhere else in Europe. Lynn and Kristof’s multicultural celebration here was a perfect blend of elegance, cultural heritage, and pure joy — and it produced footage of a visual richness and emotional depth that we return to with genuine admiration.

The Ceremony at Sponza Palace
Lynn and Kristof exchanged their vows at the iconic Sponza Palace — a 16th-century architectural masterpiece in the heart of Dubrovnik’s UNESCO World Heritage Old Town. Its marble columns, vaulted ceilings, and centuries of historic character made for an extraordinarily romantic ceremony setting — the combination of the ancient Adriatic light and the timeless architecture giving every frame of the ceremony footage a quality of genuinely painterly beauty.

The Reception at Villa Sheherezade
After the ceremony, the celebration moved to Villa Sheherezade — a luxurious villa overlooking the Adriatic, with Moorish-inspired architecture, white stone terraces, and a quality of intimate, beautifully designed private celebration space that gave the reception footage an entirely distinctive and warm character. The atmosphere was filled with genuine laughter, heartfelt speeches, and the extraordinary quality of the golden Croatian sunset light across the sea — exactly the kind of atmosphere that translates most powerfully on film.
The Chinese Dragon Dance
As an Asian couple, Lynn and Kristof chose to honour their cultural heritage with a traditional Chinese Dragon Dance — performed during the reception, bringing vibrant colour, rhythmic drumming, and a quality of pure celebratory energy and cultural pride to the celebration that is very hard to describe and genuinely extraordinary to film. The dragon sweeping through the garden, the drumming, the particular communal joy of everyone present — it was one of the most visually stunning cultural performances we have ever captured at any destination wedding anywhere in the world.
“The Chinese Dragon Dance at Lynn and Kristof’s Dubrovnik reception was one of the most extraordinary things we have ever filmed — the colour, the rhythm, the energy, the particular quality of cultural pride and communal celebration it brought to the whole gathering. Dubrovnik, with its ancient walls and extraordinary light, was the perfect backdrop for everything this celebration represented.”

Sailing, Music & Celebration
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds enjoyed a peaceful boat ride along the Dubrovnik coast — the sun setting over the Adriatic, the ancient walled city behind them, and the open sea ahead. A moment of complete peace and genuine connection after the extraordinary energy of the day. Later that evening, the party came alive with music by DJ Jordi Ruz, dancing, and pure celebration under the Dubrovnik stars — the perfect close to an extraordinary day.
