Filming abroad was a dream, and with our passion, we knew it was inevitable to at least film one destination wedding. To our surprise, it has become a regular thing for us, and we are extremely happy that our family business has evolved into what it is today.

Greece wedding videography is always beautiful experience, and since it has a very romantic nature and background, it is often considered as a great place for weddings to happen. We’ve have the opportunity of filming weddings for couples that decide to travel to Santorini or Mykonos, and also for local Greek couples. In both cases, the experience is so marvellous that it deserves some words from us.

History Surrounding Love

Several places in Greece have some of the most interesting architecture we have ever seen in our lives; and of course they are history at its finest. This adds some really iconic details to the Greek wedding videos we make, even if the couples aren’t marrying near one of them.

Our main purpose is not to show just a regular wedding, but a love story in all its nature, that is why we use resources like these (the architectural ones) to create a true Greek love story with our wedding videos when we have the opportunity of travelling to Greece as wedding videographers.

The Shores Are Everything – Santorini & Mykonos Wedding Videography

It doesn’t matter if a wedding happens in Mykonos or Santorini, when it comes to Greece the ocean and shores have an extremely important presence. And as wedding videographers we know how to make the best out of this, from lovely walks at the beach, to drone footages showing everything from a fantastic point of view.

What we like the most about working as Santorini or Mykonos wedding videographers is that time gets really slow, almost as if the sea itself has a reassuring influence on the entire wedding environment, and honestly, weddings can often feel very rushed, so this mystic happening is something worth mentioning here.

The Iconic Greek Houses

The beaches of Greece, especially in Mykonos and Santorini are usually surrounded by a handful of one of the most beautiful icons of Greece, those white houses with strong accents of blue. This has been something very characteristic of Greece, that’s why we always include it in our Greek wedding videos, unless the couple does not want it of course. A wedding doesn’t have to be the fanciest thing of this world, and we have been to many weddings where receptions happen in these lovely villages, surrounded by true Greek culture.

The King Midas Touch

For some reason, sunlight in Greece makes the hue of our videos have a special touch of golden colour. Without seeking further explanations, we like to attribute this beautiful happening to the myth of King Midas. When we talk with wedding planners, we always agree that in one way or another, something blue needs to be present in the middle of this golden aura that is formed thanks to the sun.

And of course, no big Greek wedding would be complete without their iconic parties. These happen usually at night, far away from the golden light of the sun that we mentioned before, but they are a total indulgence to the senses.

They are usually loaded with vibrant lights, some really nice music, and charming paper balloons flying in the air with their beautiful lights from the fire, all these Greek wedding parties are an absolute blast. We must say that we save plenty of energy for these moments, because we know that they are one of the most demanding parties of any culture that we have had the pleasure of filming to.

There is one particular happening we love to capture with our cameras, and that is when some plates get broken. That really is a fascinating tradition (that we’ve had the chance sometimes to actually break some plates ourselves), and since it is very unpredictable, we are always extremely awake when anticipating them.

Honestly we filmed only one wedding in which they didn’t break any plates, but we’ve heard that it is a tradition that little by little has been happening less at regular social events. So we hope at least at weddings, they continue to happen every single time.

Greek wedding videography could be challenging for us if it wasn’t for our conceptual approach. Prior the big day, we develop a concept with the couples in order to create the perfect video for them. We meet not only with them but also with their wedding planner in order to intertwine everything in the most seamless way. Greece has a lot of beautiful destinations besides Mykonos and beautiful Santorini, and we would love to continue filming beautiful weddings in this fantastic country. Opa!
