‘How long is an average wedding video?’ is indeed a very good question to ask for a number of reasons which we will discuss in the post.
Wedding videos are usually seen by the newlyweds’ family and close friends so you’ll need to consider their concentration levels. However, it is curious (instead of saying sad) to notice how many married couples hardly ever see their own wedding video, or at least as much as we would like them to.
We think that the wedding video is not simply a beautiful memento with showcasing purposes. We firmly believe that it is an asset with a deeper function, which is to work out as a tangible element of their own history.
Since we firmly believe in that, we want to change that sad tradition wedding videos have been suffering, and get them being watched more regularly.
We want our videos to be seen by the couple many times during their life, especially during the hard times (which there will be). The reason why couples forget to see this video, is because they have usually been crafted in extremely long (and even boring sometimes) formats. Therefore, their inspiring purpose is rarely well achieved.
At HD Moments we are committed to delivering the highest quality cinematic wedding videography, always. This makes a lot of sense of course since we love doing wedding videos, therefore it would be extremely odd if we didn’t give all our effort into each of our wedding videos.
We know that not all couples have the desired budget, and that’s the reason why we decided to create an offer which includes three types of videos.:
The Highlights Film
This video spans between 2 and 4 minutes, and is the right one to share through social media. It has the perfect duration to summarise all the beautiful and important aspects of the wedding in a format suitable for social networks.
These are the 2 other types of wedding videos that we offer at HD Moments, and the only thing that varies is the duration of each of them:
The Signature Film and the Deluxe Film
In these videos we include all those moments of beautiful tension before the wedding, the reception, and the best parts and most moving moments of the speeches and the ceremony. We love wedding parties so obviously we include a little bit of dancing and the first dance as well.
- The Signature Film has an average duration of 15 to 20 minutes.
- The Deluxe Film has a longer duration, which is in average covers from 20 to 25 minutes.
We don’t like to standardise the duration of our videos that much, because this allows us to be 100% flexible to the clients’ requirements.
But wait, there’s more for you
Obviously, this is not the only thing we deliver. For an extra charge we can also include the ceremony and the speeches, which are very important for couples.
It is this type of traditional video (which is still important) that is usually considered to be the wedding video, and due to it’s long duration, it ends up being saved and rarely watched. We are breaking with that tradition by delivering short and exhilirating wedding films.
All of our wedding video packages include a USB drive with the final video edited by our in-house editor, who takes all the material filmed during the wedding (which is quite a lot) and makes a beautiful love story based on the time required for the final video. The only difference is the duration of the final edited video.
We are open to customise any of the above video options to include certain goodies like Instagram oriented videos, drone shots of the wedding, 4K footage and even all the raw footage beyond the ceremony if you wish; contact us so we can create the best option for you based on any of our packages.
We are an extremely creative crew of wedding videographers, we know it, and we are proud of it. However, this doesn’t mean that we are a messy team just because we are highly creative.
