Some weddings stay with you long after the filming is done. Esme and Adam’s three-day celebration at Hopetoun House in Scotland is one of those weddings — a whimsical, theatrical, and deeply personal event that brought guests from across the globe together for an experience unlike anything we have ever filmed.
Originally from Los Angeles and now making their home in London with their young son, Esme and Adam approached their wedding with the creative ambition and warmth that defines everything they do. Planned by the extraordinary team at Cranberry Blue Events, this was not simply a wedding — it was an immersive three-day journey through romance, fantasy, and pure joy. As Scottish wedding videographers, it is one of the most ambitious and joyful weddings we have ever had the privilege of filming.

Hopetoun House — Scotland’s Most Magnificent Wedding Venue
Hopetoun House is one of Scotland’s most breathtaking stately homes — a magnificent baroque palace set within 100 acres of parkland on the shores of the Firth of Forth, just outside Edinburgh. With its grand state rooms, sweeping lawns, and extraordinary architectural detail, it is a venue that commands attention and inspires awe at every turn.
For Esme and Adam, it was the perfect canvas for a wedding that matched its scale and ambition in every way. Following a two-week marquee build by Joseph Benjamin Marquees, the estate was transformed into something truly spectacular — a world of lavish décor, theatrical staging, and immersive entertainment that guests are still talking about today.

Day One — The Circus Welcome Evening
The weekend began not with a rehearsal dinner but with something far more extraordinary — a full circus-themed welcome evening at Rosebery Venues. Guests arriving from across the globe were immediately immersed in a world of theatrical performance, spectacular entertainment, and the kind of joyful energy that set the tone for everything that followed.
Performers from Black Rabbit Projects filled the space with colour, movement, and wonder. Catering by Wild Ethymes — one of the UK’s most celebrated event caterers — was exceptional, and the circus marquee by Arc Marquees created a venue within a venue that felt completely immersive. By the time guests left for the night, the bar had already been set extraordinarily high. And Esme and Adam were only just getting started.
The Ceremony — Vows Inside Hopetoun House
The ceremony took place inside Hopetoun House itself — in the grand state rooms that have stood for centuries and seen celebrations of every kind. The space was transformed by the extraordinary florals of Amie Bone Flowers — a spectacular arch of white blooms that framed the altar and gave every frame of the ceremony the quality of a painting.
The mirror-lined aisle reflected the beauty above and below, creating a sense of grandeur and infinity that felt almost otherworldly. As Esme walked towards Adam, the room fell completely silent. When they shared their first kiss as husband and wife, the guests erupted — a moment of pure, overwhelming joy that we were honoured to capture on film.
The draping throughout the ceremony space by Draping Bliss and the stationery by Emily & Jo gave every detail a visual consistency and refinement that carried through every close-up in the film.
The Reception — Dinner Under the Marquee
As the ceremony gave way to the reception, guests moved to the bespoke marquee on the Hopetoun House grounds — a space that had taken two weeks to build and that delivered an atmosphere unlike any wedding venue we have filmed in. The combination of the Draping Bliss installation, the Amie Bone florals, and the production by Bespoke Events London created something that felt genuinely cinematic.
Catering by Bubble Food was exceptional throughout — long tables, extraordinary food, the sound of laughter and toasts, and the particular quality of a Scottish summer evening wrapping everything in a warm golden glow.

The Entertainment — The Alice in Wonderland Dance Floor Reveal
What set this wedding apart from anything else we have filmed was the entertainment — and specifically, the moment that brought the entire wedding night to its extraordinary climax. The dance floor was hidden behind bespoke castle gates. And when the time came, it was revealed by a troupe of Alice in Wonderland–inspired dancers from Black Rabbit Projects — a dramatic, magical, utterly unforgettable moment that drew gasps from every single guest in the room.
When the gates opened and the dance floor was revealed, the energy in the room was electric. The Function Band took to the stage and delivered a performance that matched the ambition and energy of every other element of this extraordinary wedding. The dance floor was full from the first song to the last.
“A wedding that redefined what we thought was possible to capture on film — theatrical, emotional, and completely unforgettable from the first circus performer to the last dance.”

The Bride
Esme wore a gown by Suzie Turner Couture — an extraordinary piece of bridal design that was both spectacular in the wide shots and exquisitely detailed in every close-up. Hair and makeup by Kate Hughes was flawless and completely natural — the kind of work that films beautifully in both the intimate morning preparations and the grand ceremony setting of Hopetoun House’s state rooms.
The wedding cake by Hall of Cakes was a work of art in itself — intricate, elegant, and a perfect visual match for the refined grandeur of the venue. Every detail of Esme’s look was considered, cohesive, and completely her own.
Why We Loved Filming This Wedding
Hopetoun House is one of the most cinematic venues we have ever worked in — and Esme and Adam’s wedding gave us the opportunity to capture it at its absolute best. The combination of the grand baroque architecture, the immersive theatrical décor, the extraordinary entertainment, and the genuine warmth between the couple and their guests created a visual feast that was impossible not to film beautifully.
But beyond the spectacle, it was Esme and Adam themselves who made this wedding so special to film. Originally from Los Angeles and now building their life in London, they brought a warmth, a creative energy, and a joy to every moment of the three days that was completely infectious. The Alice in Wonderland dance floor reveal remains one of the most dramatic moments we have ever captured on film. The circus welcome evening at Rosebery Venues was unlike anything we have filmed before. And the ceremony inside Hopetoun House — that first kiss beneath the white floral arch — is a sequence we will always be proud of.
“Three days, two venues, one extraordinary couple — and a wedding film that captures every moment of it with the care and emotion it deserves.”
