This is our second time filming in Puglia — and we fell in love with it all over again. The rustic masseria corners, the silvery olive groves, the golden light that seems to exist nowhere else on earth. But what made Lucy and Ben’s three days at Masseria Calderisi truly unforgettable was the couple themselves. We spent three full days by their side and left feeling like part of the family. That kind of warmth and welcome is something you cannot manufacture — it just is, and it makes every frame better for it.
As Italy wedding videographers, we have filmed celebrations across Lake Como, Tuscany, and Venice — but there is something about Puglia that gets under your skin. The raw beauty of the landscape, the warmth of the people, and the quality of light in the heel of Italy’s boot create conditions for filmmaking that are simply extraordinary.

Masseria Calderisi — The Setting
Masseria Calderisi is one of Puglia’s most beautiful and authentic wedding venues — a traditional fortified farmhouse surrounded by ancient olive groves, dry stone walls, and the particular golden light of the Itria Valley that makes every frame of a wedding film look effortlessly beautiful. The masseria combines rustic Puglian character with elegant refinement, creating a setting that feels both deeply rooted in the landscape and entirely magical.
The venue sits within its own private grounds — complete with a pool, olive grove gardens, and the kind of exclusive access that allows a three-day celebration to truly breathe and unfold at its own pace. For Lucy and Ben, Masseria Calderisi was not just a venue. It was a home for three extraordinary days.
Day One — Welcome Dinner on the Beach
The weekend began at the beach — a welcome dinner on the Adriatic shore that set the tone for everything that followed. Guests arriving from across the world were welcomed into the warmth of a Puglia summer evening, with the sea stretching out before them and the sound of laughter and music carrying across the water.
It was the kind of evening that only a destination wedding can produce — the combination of an extraordinary location, the natural energy of guests who have travelled far to be together, and the particular magic of the Italian coast at golden hour. By the time the evening came to a close, the weekend had already become something none of us would forget.
The Ceremony — A Storm, a Laugh, and the Most Beautiful Restart
We have filmed wedding ceremonies in extraordinary circumstances — but what happened at Lucy and Ben’s outdoor ceremony at Masseria Calderisi is something we will tell for the rest of our careers. As Lucy walked down the aisle towards Ben, the sky opened. A dramatic storm swept in — wind, rain, and the kind of theatrical entrance that no wedding planner could have scripted.
And then — ten minutes later — it stopped. The sky cleared. The Puglia sun returned. And Lucy turned to her guests, laughed, and said: “Let’s do it again.”
She walked down the aisle a second time. The guests cheered. Ben’s face said everything. And the ceremony that followed — now charged with an energy and a joy that only that moment could have produced — was one of the most moving we have ever filmed. The storm did not interrupt the wedding. It made it.
The outdoor ceremony was officiated by Apulian Ceremony — and framed by the extraordinary florals of Caterina Florist, whose work across the Masseria grounds was breathtaking throughout the entire three days.
The Reception — Dinner and Dancing Under the Puglia Sky
As the ceremony gave way to the reception, Lucy and Ben’s guests settled into dinner under the open Puglia sky — the olive groves around them, the warm evening air wrapping everything in a golden glow, and the sound of music from ALR Music carrying across the masseria grounds.
The entertainment was exceptional — a live event illustrator from Event Illustrator captured the evening in real time, creating a live artwork of the wedding that guests gathered around in delight throughout the night. The stationery by The Wedding Paporium gave every table detail a refined visual consistency. Production by Itinera Events ensured every moment of the evening flowed with effortless precision.
The dancing continued long into the night — and the Puglia evening, still warm and still golden even after dark, provided a backdrop that required no art direction whatsoever. It was simply perfect.
The Bride
Lucy wore a gown by Chapman Burrell — one of the UK’s most celebrated bridal designers, known for creating gowns that combine structural elegance with deeply personal detail. For the evening, Lucy changed into a shorter party dress — also by Chapman Burrell — that brought an entirely different energy to the dance floor and looked absolutely stunning in the warm Puglia evening light.
Hair by VS Hair and makeup by Olivia Todd Makeup were both flawless — natural, glowing, and perfectly suited to the outdoor setting and the quality of light that Puglia provides in abundance. Bridesmaids’ fashion was also by Chapman Burrell, creating a cohesive and beautifully considered bridal party aesthetic throughout the day.
Day Three — Poolside Party
The final day at Masseria Calderisi was everything a Puglia summer should be — a relaxed poolside party with the sun high, the music going, and guests swimming, laughing, and soaking in the last hours of an extraordinary weekend together. We captured it all — the ease, the joy, the sense of people who have been through something genuinely special together and are not quite ready to let it go.
There is something very particular about the third day of a destination wedding. The ceremony is over, the speeches are done, the dance floor has been thoroughly tested — and what remains is pure, unfiltered connection. That translates beautifully on film.
Why We Loved Filming This Wedding
We have said it before and we will say it again — Puglia does something to us. The light is extraordinary. The landscape is extraordinary. And Masseria Calderisi, with its ancient olive groves and rustic Puglian character, is one of the most visually extraordinary wedding venues we have ever worked in.
But it was Lucy and Ben who made this wedding truly special. Their warmth, their joy, and the particular way they made every person around them feel completely welcome — including us — created an energy across all three days that shows in every frame of the film. And that moment in the ceremony — the storm, the laugh, the decision to walk down the aisle again — is the kind of moment that reminds you why wedding videography is one of the most extraordinary jobs in the world.
“A storm swept in as Lucy walked down the aisle. Ten minutes later, the sun came out — and she walked down again. The ceremony that followed was one of the most joyful and moving we have ever filmed.”
