Sam and Chris’s wedding day began with clear skies and soft morning light drifting across Lake Como. A gentle breeze moved through Villa Pizzo’s terraced gardens as Sam prepared for the ceremony — calm, excited, and completely ready for what was about to unfold. The morning footage from the preparation rooms at the villa has a particular quality that we associate with the very best wedding days — quiet, warm, and completely unguarded.

One of the most memorable sequences of the entire day was their arrival by classic wooden launch — a beautifully composed entrance framed by the dramatic Alpine backdrop and the shimmering blue water of the lake. Guests, too, arrived across the water by private boat — a quintessentially Lake Como experience that gives every arrival sequence a sense of occasion and theatre. Later, guests were treated to their own private lake cruise, fully immersed in the extraordinary magic of this destination.

The Bride & Groom — Style and Detail

Sam looked effortlessly elegant in a self-embroidered gown from Pronovias — a Spanish bridal house known for its exceptional craftsmanship and refined aesthetic. The gown combined modern sophistication with classic detailing in a way that was entirely in keeping with the grandeur of Villa Pizzo and the beauty of the lake around her.

Chris complemented her perfectly in a sharp black tuxedo by Casely Hayford London — one of the UK’s most celebrated tailors, known for impeccably cut occasion wear. Together they created a visual consistency and elegance that carries through every frame of the film.

The florals by Flowers Living were romantic, lush, and deeply in keeping with the lakeside atmosphere — arrangements that felt as though they had grown directly from Villa Pizzo’s own gardens. Every table, every frame, every detail shot was richer for them.

The Ceremony — Vows at the Darsena

Sam and Chris exchanged their vows at the historic Darsena — Villa Pizzo’s elegant boathouse situated at the water’s edge with panoramic views stretching across the lake to the mountains beyond. It is one of the most naturally beautiful and emotionally powerful ceremony settings we film in anywhere in Europe.

The ceremony was intimate, completely sincere, and deeply felt. The combination of the Darsena architecture, the lake below, the mountains behind, and the extraordinary light of a Lake Como afternoon created a visual richness that required nothing additional from us except to be in the right position and let what was happening speak entirely for itself.

The styling throughout by Wiskow & White — who planned and coordinated the entire celebration with exceptional care and precision — gave every element of the day a visual coherence and refinement that runs through every frame of the film.

The Celebration — Boats, Aperitivo & Dancing

After the ceremony, the celebration unfolded with the relaxed joy that only a Lake Como wedding produces — guests moving through the terraced gardens of Villa Pizzo, champagne in hand, the lake and mountains surrounding them on every side. The botanical pathways, the grand architecture of the villa, and the extraordinary light of the Italian afternoon created an aperitivo sequence of genuine beauty.

The lake itself remained central to the day — guests enjoyed a private lake cruise, and the combination of being on the water, surrounded by the villas and mountains of Como, produced footage of a warmth and joy that is completely unique to this destination. There is something about being on Lake Como — the scale of the landscape, the history of the villas around you, the quality of the Italian light — that makes every moment feel significant and worth preserving.
