Villa Bonomi is one of the most intimate and quietly beautiful wedding venues on Lake Como — a historic estate elevated above the eastern shore near Lezzeno, with panoramic views across the water and mountains that are among the finest from any wedding venue on the lake. Renovated by designer Vincenzo Dascanio, the villa blends Art Nouveau elegance with modern refinement — blown-glass chandeliers, handcrafted interiors, and terraced gardens leading down through neoclassical sculptures to the panoramic lake terrace.

At a typical capacity of around 60 guests, Villa Bonomi creates something that the grander Lake Como estates sometimes cannot — complete emotional intimacy. By the end of Shelby and Mackenzie’s day, every guest was completely present, completely relaxed, and completely themselves. The footage that results from that quality of ease is consistently among the most warm and genuine we make anywhere on the lake.

Shelby wore a gown by Galia Lahav — one of the world’s most celebrated bridal couture houses, known for extraordinary embroidery, exquisite beading, and a romanticism that is both spectacular and timelessly elegant. The gown was extraordinary — magnificent in the widest shots against the panoramic lake backdrop, and with a level of detail in every close-up that rewards the camera entirely. Hair and makeup by The Studio Como was flawless and completely natural — the kind of work that films beautifully in the particular quality of Lake Como’s golden afternoon light.

The Ceremony — Vows Overlooking the Lake

The outdoor ceremony at Villa Bonomi was one of the most moving we have filmed anywhere on Lake Como. Shelby and Mackenzie exchanged deeply personal vows on the lake terrace — the panoramic water stretching before them, the mountains beyond, and the particular quality of the Como light in late afternoon making every frame genuinely extraordinary. The words they chose moved every guest to tears. The stillness of the lake behind them, the genuine emotion between them — it was one of those ceremonies that stays with a filming team long after the day is over.

The florals by Larry Walshe Studios — one of the world’s most celebrated floral design houses, with a permanent studio on Lake Como — were lush, dramatic, and completely extraordinary. Larry Walshe’s work at Villa Bonomi transformed the ceremony space and the reception tables into something that felt genuinely otherworldly, while remaining entirely in harmony with the organic beauty of the lake setting.

The Reception — Dinner and Dancing Under the Stars

As the ceremony gave way to the reception, Shelby and Mackenzie’s guests settled into the villa gardens for dinner — the lake below them, the stars above, and the warm Lake Como evening wrapping everything in a golden glow. The stationery by Pale Press London gave every table detail a refined visual consistency that carried through every close-up in the film.
