Tuscany is one of the most naturally beautiful and emotionally rich wedding destinations in the world — rolling vineyards, ancient cypress trees, historic borgos, and a quality of golden light that makes every frame feel effortless. As experienced Italy wedding videographers, we film destination weddings across Tuscany for couples who value timeless storytelling, genuine emotion, and the extraordinary atmosphere that only this region can provide.
This guide is written from direct, first-hand experience of filming in Tuscany — across countryside estates, vineyard villas, and the city of Florence. If you are planning a destination wedding here, this is everything you need to know about what makes Tuscany so special to film in.
Wedding Films from Tuscany
Below are two films from our work in Tuscany — a romantic evening at Villa Gamberaia in Florence, and Nate and Easton’s three-day same-sex celebration at Il Borro estate. Together they show the full range of what a Tuscany wedding can look and feel like on film.

Why Tuscany Is So Special to Film
Tuscany gives us as a filming team something genuinely rare — an environment where beauty is simply everywhere, and where the landscape itself tells part of the story. The rolling hills of the Val d’Orcia, the ancient cypress-lined roads of the Chianti, the medieval borgos rising from the vineyards — every wide shot contextualises the couple’s celebration in something vast and timeless.
- The light. The golden hour in Tuscany — particularly in May, June and September — produces footage of extraordinary warmth and depth. The combination of pale stone, terracotta, and vineyard greens creates a natural palette that is unlike anywhere else in Italy. Late afternoon light across a Tuscan hilltop is one of the most naturally flattering filming environments we work in anywhere in the world.
- The landscapes. Drone footage across the Val d’Orcia, the Chianti hills, and the cypress-lined roads of the Crete Senesi provides aerial sequences of genuinely breathtaking beauty — the kind of footage that contextualises a wedding celebration in something ancient and magnificent.
- The venues. From historic borgos and vineyard estates to elegant villas and city palazzos, Tuscany offers a depth and variety of wedding venues that rewards every couple differently. No two Tuscany weddings look the same.
- The multi-day format. Tuscany weddings naturally unfold over several days — a welcome dinner among the vines, the wedding day itself, a farewell brunch or truffle hunt the following morning. Multi-day events produce significantly richer, more personal films — and Tuscany’s rhythm of life makes the multi-day format feel completely natural.
- The atmosphere. There is a warmth and generosity to Tuscany — in its food, its wine, its people — that settles over a wedding weekend and produces footage of genuine human joy. Long dinners, dancing under the stars, the smell of the countryside at dusk. These are the moments you will treasure for the rest of your lives.
Tuscany Wedding Venues We Film
Tuscany offers an extraordinary variety of wedding venues — each with its own character, light, and atmosphere. Here are the types of settings we film in most regularly across the region:
Tuscany Venue Styles
- Historic borgos — medieval estate villages with private accommodation, stone courtyards, and extraordinary countryside views. Ideal for multi-day celebrations with large international guest lists.
- Vineyard estates — rolling vines, wine tastings, and warm Tuscan farmhouse hospitality. Beautifully intimate and deeply personal in atmosphere.
- Elegant country villas — private estates with formal gardens, swimming pools, and panoramic views. Perfect for couples who want privacy and exclusivity in an extraordinary natural setting.
- City palazzos — in Florence and Siena, Renaissance architecture provides a backdrop that is genuinely unlike anything a countryside estate can offer.
Florence & Tuscany — One Region, Two Distinct Experiences
While Tuscany is defined by open landscapes, vineyard estates, and countryside elegance, Florence offers a more urban, editorial experience rooted in art, architecture and the extraordinary history of the Renaissance. Both settings are deeply beautiful and emotionally rich — but they produce very different films.
A countryside Tuscany wedding unfolds in the open air, shaped by the landscape and the light. A Florence wedding is shaped by the city itself — the cobbled streets, the pale stone façades, the golden light reflecting off the Arno at dusk. Both are extraordinary. The choice depends entirely on the couple and the feeling they want their film to carry.

Planning a Wedding in Tuscany — What to Know
After filming multiple weddings across Tuscany, here is our honest advice for couples planning a destination wedding in this region:
- Book 12–18 months ahead minimum. The best Tuscany venues and the best suppliers fill their calendars quickly for the May–October season. If you have a dream venue in mind, enquire as soon as your date is set.
- Plan portraits for 5:00–7:00pm. The golden hour in Tuscany — when the sun drops low across the vineyard hills and the pale stone takes on a warm amber glow — is simply extraordinary. This is the window that defines a Tuscany wedding film.
- Plan the multi-day format from the start. A welcome dinner among the vines on day one, the wedding day on day two, and a farewell brunch or activity on day three produces a film of real depth and narrative richness. Plan it as a complete experience from the very beginning.
- Consider the season carefully. May, June and September offer the most beautiful light and the most reliable weather. July and August can be very hot — plan outdoor ceremonies for early morning or after 5:30pm if you marry in peak summer.
- Use a planner with genuine Tuscany experience. The local supplier network in Tuscany — caterers, florists, musicians — varies enormously in quality. A planner who knows which local suppliers understand the aesthetic and pace of a luxury destination wedding will make an enormous difference.
- Travel: Florence Airport (FLR) is the most convenient entry point for central Tuscany. Pisa Airport (PSA) is also well-served from London and approximately 1 hour from most Chianti venues. Rome Fiumicino (FCO) connects to southern Tuscany via high-speed rail.

FAQ — Tuscany Wedding Videography
Do you film weddings across Tuscany?
Yes — we film destination weddings throughout Tuscany, from vineyard estates in the Chianti to historic borgos in the Val d’Orcia and city celebrations in Florence and Siena. We are based in London and travel costs are included in our destination wedding packages.
What style of wedding film do you create in Tuscany?
Our films are timeless and deeply personal — we capture real emotions and genuine moments without directing or staging. In Tuscany, the landscape and light do much of the visual work for us. Our job is to make sure the human story at the centre of the day is captured with equal care and depth.
What is the best time of year for a Tuscany wedding?
May, June and September are our favourite months for filming in Tuscany. The light is extraordinary, the weather is reliably warm, and the landscapes are at their most beautiful. July and August are also popular but can be very hot — plan outdoor ceremonies for early morning or after 5:30pm in peak summer.
Do you film same-sex weddings in Tuscany?
Yes — we film same-sex and LGBTQ+ weddings across Tuscany and throughout Europe with the same care, sensitivity and love we bring to every celebration. Nate and Easton’s three-day same-sex wedding at Il Borro is one of the most joyful and moving films we have made in Italy.
Do you use drones in Tuscany?
Yes — the open Tuscan countryside is ideal for drone work. The aerial sequences from Tuscany — rolling vineyards, cypress-lined roads, hilltop borgos, the Val d’Orcia — are consistently some of the most beautiful footage we make anywhere in Italy. Always confirm the drone policy with your venue in advance.
How far in advance should we book?
As early as possible — ideally 12–18 months before your date. The best Tuscany venues and suppliers fill their calendars quickly for the May–October season. We recommend enquiring as soon as your venue and date are confirmed.
