A Coastal Fairytale: Catherine & Frank’s Elegant Wedding in Scotland

As a wedding videographer based in London, it’s a true privilege to travel across the UK to document love stories in extraordinary locations. And few places are more captivating than the Scottish coastline. Catherine & Frank’s unforgettable wedding in Scotland, held on their private family estate in North Berwick, was a celebration of intimacy, tradition, and timeless beauty.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear this wasn’t just any wedding—it was a deeply personal event filled with intention and heart. The couple chose their family’s historic estate as the setting for their vows, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. With sweeping views of the North Sea, lush gardens, and centuries-old architecture, it was like walking into a dream.

An Intimate Garden Ceremony

Their ceremony took place in the estate’s enchanting garden. Surrounded by nature, their closest family and friends, and the sound of the sea in the background, Catherine and Frank exchanged vows that were both emotional and full of joy. As a London wedding videographer, I’ve captured many beautiful moments, but the emotion in this ceremony was truly special.

The garden setting, combined with thoughtful florals from Wild Flowers Edinburgh, created a romantic scene that looked straight out of a classic novel. Catherine’s elegant gown from Mira Zwillinger moved effortlessly in the coastal breeze, and her timeless beauty was complemented perfectly by Meg McMillion Beauty.

Dancing Into the Golden Hour

After the ceremony, the celebration flowed seamlessly to the estate’s front lawn. There, with the sun beginning to set over the cliffs and golf greens, guests enjoyed canapés and cocktails before dancing beneath the open sky. The soundtrack of the evening was provided by the lively performances of Salut Band and The London Essentials, who kept the energy joyful and the dance floor buzzing.

This kind of outdoor celebration is exactly why filming a destination wedding in Scotland is so unique—there’s a sense of freedom, romance, and deep connection to place that you just can’t replicate anywhere else.

Elegant Details, Seamlessly Designed

Of course, no luxury wedding happens without the talent of an expert planning team. Matthew Oliver Weddings orchestrated every detail to perfection, from the charming ceremony setup to the exquisite reception marquee provided by Joseph Benjamin Marquees. With elegant rentals from Maison Margaux Ltd, linens by Just 4 Linen, and ethereal chandeliers from Crescent Moon Events, the space felt both luxurious and welcoming.

Guests dined on a gourmet feast prepared by Culinarians UK, and the showstopping cake by CB Cake Design was both a visual and culinary highlight. Every element was carefully considered, right down to the bespoke stationery created by Meticulous Ink.

Filming Weddings That Feel Like Home

As a London wedding videographer, one of the most rewarding aspects of my job is capturing weddings that truly reflect the couple’s story. Catherine and Frank didn’t just host a beautiful wedding—they made it theirs. From the meaningful location to the heartfelt speeches and joyful dancing, every frame of their wedding video is infused with authenticity.

It’s these personal touches that elevate a wedding film from a simple recording to a lasting legacy. Their love story, set against the dramatic Scottish coast, was cinematic in every sense—and it was an honor to be the one behind the camera.
